REDUCTION OF LARGE VAGINAL LIPS
The labia majora may appear enlarged or with varying degrees of sagging skin. The purpose of surgery is to reduce the size, correcting aesthetic changes, without exaggerating them.
RECOMMENDATION
The surgery is indicated for all patients who present an exaggerated increase in the size or flaccidity of the skin of the labia majora, which leads to a distortion of the female genital aesthetics. Another symptom is the loss of volume in the labia majora, which leaves a wrinkled and shriveled aspect to the shape, leading to dissatisfaction, low self-esteem and the aesthetics of aging vagina.]
MAIN REASON FOR THE CONSULTATION
When a woman is interested in intimate surgery, it is because she has excess skin on the labia majora, discomfort during intercourse, and when wearing tight clothing.
ANESTHESIA
The surgery is performed with local anesthesia plus sedation, lasting approximately 40 to 50 minutes. When associated with adipose tissue filling (lipotransfer), the duration is one and a half hours (90 min).
RECOVERY
Edema, local ecchymosis, may occur, which disappears within 14 days. The return to work can occur between the 3rd and 5th day, always avoiding physical exertion. Sexual intercourse should be avoided for 30 days. It is not necessary to remove the stitches as the suture is absorbable.
The final result occurs around 6 months, the time required for the scar to reach maturity. However, a result close to 80% can be observed 2 months after the operation.
