THIGH DERMOLIPECTOMY
THIGH DERMOLIPECTOMY
After major weight loss, alternating between gain and loss of adipose tissue, loss of elasticity and thin skin in the inner region of the thigh, flaccidity is common. This is due to the stretching of the skin. Thigh dermolipectomy aims to remove this excess skin, thus giving a more natural contour, tensioning the underlying tissues. For people with excess fatty tissue on the thighs and good skin tone, without stretch marks or sagging, liposuction refines and shapes.
TYPE OF ANESTHESIA
It can usually be epidural or general anesthesia.
INTERACTION TIME
Generally 24 to 48 hours as directed by the surgeon.
POSTOPERATIVE
The patient must avoid excessive movements, especially not opening the legs too much, because in this type of surgery, the scar is close to the inguinal region and will be forced. The natural traction of walking and gravity generally leads to increased scarring in the first few months. The less traction on the scar, the smaller the extension.
COMPLICATIONS
Among the possible complications, we can mention: seromas, infection, hematomas, scar (hypertrophic or keloid), opening of stitches, change in sensitivity, stretching of the scar, thrombosis, embolism.
DEFINITIVE RESULT
The result closer to the end can be seen after 6 months of the intervention, it is the time needed for the tissues to adjust and mature the scar, remembering that it starts to get lighter after the first year.
